To create a forum where all paint related personnel’s can discuss, share their thoughts and work for a common goal for the enhancement of knowledge in paint coatings.

Organize technical meetings by eminent personnel’s from educational institutions and industry on specific topics on paint coatings and surface preparation.

Organize educational courses and training programmes.

Organize at least one major activity as National / International conference to focus new research, inventions in paint coatings and surface preparation.

Possibly work together to make new or modify existing standards suitable for our environment.

Akzo Nobel Strengthens Protective Coatings Portfolio...

Akzo Nobel has strengthened its position in the global protective coatings market after signing an agreement to acquire the worldwide Ceilcote business from the German-based KCH Group for close to €12 million. A major international brand used to coat concrete and steel structures—particularly in the petrochemical and power industries—Ceilcote specializes in high performance, polymer-based corrosion control solutions for both new construction and maintenance projects.

"The Ceilcote product line is a welcome addition which will both complement and extend our International Paint portfolio of products for the protection of assets in aggressive chemical environments." Established in Cleveland, Ohio, in the U.S. in 1926, Ceilcote, which employees 36 people, is a global operation, with a regional sales office situated in Singapore. Last year, the company relocated its main manufacturing facility and headquarters to a new facility in Berea, OH


Kansai Nerolac Award...

The award money of Rs. 50,000/- announced by M/s Kansai Nerolac Ltd was discussed in great length in order to make an equal distribution on R & D work and application at the site. Though some members felt that it has been meant only for R & D in High Performance coatings, other felt that people who do the application at site must also be included in the award. To decide all these things a committee headed by Dr. B.P.Mallik were formed which includes Chairman and one t member from Kansai Nerolac to give its report by May 31, 2007.

Mr. Xavier Pereira agreed to take responsibility of bringing out News Letter every quarterly.
